This is an inspiring story of a 14 year old girl, Alina Scott, who learned to fly an ultralight aircraft, then flew solo over a THOUSAND MILES from South Carolina to Oshkosh, in 2023. The trip took almost a week!
This video tells the story and shows her adventure as she makes over 41 stops and is met by her father/instructor each time as he drives the support vehicle! She did all the navigation, all the flying, and made all the in-flight decisions.
She arrived safe and sound at the Oshkosh Airventure show after 6 days of some pretty exciting flying in her Aerolite 103 single-seat ultralight. It was a truly exciting, even difficult at times, trip for a young high-school 14 year old.
